You don't have to look very far to hear Billy Lewis. He worked for Tommy Castro for many years. After Shad Harris, and before Chris Sandoval. My favorite recording is Tommy Castro's live at the Fillmore. Billy is on fire through the entire CD.

Irma Thomas at Yoshi's SF
My wife and I braved the stormy weather to trek into The City to catch Irma Thomas at Yoshi's SF. Well worth the effort. This was my first time to Yoshi's SF, Ellen's second. We have caught a few shows at the old Yoshi's when it was on Claremont in Oakland, and later at the Jack London Square location. Yoshi's has been a jazz club, but the SF club is branching out now to other genre. This night was New Orleans blues.
